Kukje Electric was founded in 1946 and has a long history of 70 years. After developing the first railway transformer in 1979, we have become a leader in the field of special transformers for railway vehicles, and we have gradually increased our domestic market share in the field of heavy electrical appliances and are making a leap towards overseas exports. In addition, we are strengthening our power electronics business division, which includes not only special transformers but also UPS, inverters, rectifiers, and chargers. In 1984, we signed a technology import contract with EMERSON in the U.S. and were designated as a government affiliated company specialising in power generation equipment, and we made efforts to lay a foothold for exports by acquiring PS and UL marks. In the 90s, we introduced high-voltage generators for electrostatic precipitators, thyristor digital control systems, and high-voltage power supply technology for electrostatic precipitators through a technology agreement with ORIGIN Electric in Korea. In 1994, we were selected as a ‘Q-Class’ company for nuclear power generation equipment based on the establishment of a company-affiliated research institute, and have grown into a core company in the national power industry.
